SUSTAINABILITY

Boon Brown endeavour to ensure that environmental awareness is an inherent part of the philosophy of the Practice. Knowledge and awareness of environmental issues are key factors in the ability to implement solution to the sustainability challenges that we all face. To this end, we maintain both formal and informal training which leads to a continually increasing range of projects that incorporate appropriate responses to environmental issues. We address such issues as carbon output and long term sustainability through careful design and specification in terms of orientation, passive solutions, materials, renewable energy sources and methods of construction.

We consider that as a profession, and as a Practice, we have a responsibility to implement sustainable methodologies in buildings whenever appropriate from the outset. We therefore have a further responsibility to inform and convince clients that they should recognise environmental issues and adopt similar strategies. Consequently, we are able to generate an increasing portfolio of clients and project which incorporate an environmentally considerate and responsible approach from inception of a scheme onwards.
